Tea, cake & CPR with Inkberrow WI.

Antony & Martin were delighted to be invited to Inkberrow WI on the evening of Wednesday October 1st to tell them a little about the Vale of Evesham Community First Responders, what we do & how, and what is involved in volunteering for the charity. We were also asked to carry out a CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation) and Defibrillator awareness session for them.

The event was carried out in a fun and interactive way, whilst also expressing how important it is to be able to carry out effective and early CPR in the event of a cardiac arrest. The event also fitted in with the WI ‘Bystanders Can be Lifesavers’ campaign, which calls on WI members to work together to increase public confidence and training in the delivery of CPR. We were delighted that many questions were asked, and some of the comments afterwards thanked us for delivering the session in a way that dispelled some of their fears and concerns.

Afterwards, our responders were treated with tea and cake, and the ladies very generously had a collection which raised £308 in vital funds to help us in delivering ongoing life-saving care to members of our local communities. If you would like us to carry out a CPR & Defib awareness session, please contact us to arrange this.

We need your help please. Each of our vehicles costs over £5000 per year to run, as well as having to purchase uniforms & equipment. We receive no funding from the NHS or ambulance service towards this - every penny we spend is raised through generous donations from members of the public, and other fundraising. If you would like to help us with either a ‘one off’ or recurring donation, please CLICK HERE to be taken to our donations page. The next life we save could be yours!
